Biographical Information and Racing Accomplishments

Mark owns a Van Diemen Formula Continental that he races in the Sports Car Club of America (SCCA).  In the first three races entered so far in 2007 he has won all three including a new track record at Motorsports Ranch Houston. 

Mark is the 2006 SCCA Southwest Division Champion. His first National race win came at Texas Motor Speedway where he also broke the track record for his class.  He qualified 6th and finished 7th out of 25 in the 2006 Runoffs.  Mark is also a driving instructor for the SCCA and Eagles Canyon Raceway.

In 2003 Mark raced a Formula Continental in Regional races to earn his Sports Car Club of America (SCCA) National Racing License in the Southwest Division of SCCA. He was awarded rookie of the year honors and came in 3rd overall in points. His first national race was at Texas Motor Speedway where he finished 4th out of 12 cars in his class.

Mark began racing go-karts at the age of six and continued until his freshman year of college. While competing, he won several state and regional championships and twice came in second at the nationals. He was a factory driver for the Top Kart US factory team traveling coast to coast in the constructors cup series finishing 4th overall out of 32 competitors. Team members on the Top Kart team were Michael McDowell and Adam Pecorari. Mark has gained tremendous experience racing at a national level at 34 different tracks in 15 states.

Twenty-seven years old, Mark is a graduate of Baylor University with a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Marketing. While attending Baylor he was a member of Phi Beta Lambda Business Fraternity, was president of his pledge class and was a member of the American Marketing Association. Mark interned one summer for the Team Texas High Performance Driving School at Texas Motor Speedway. In high school Mark was a two-year letterman in varsity tennis. Other interests include golf, disc golf, snowboarding, and wakeboarding.

Mark maintains a high level of physical fitness.  He actively supports the Shriners Hospitals for Children by hosting hospital children at the track and conducting awareness events.

Mark plans to enter the Champ Car Formula Atlantic series in 2008 with the ultimate goal of competing in the Indy Racing League or Champ Cars.
